Learn to safely operate a hand-held chainsaw and maintain it in working condition in a work environment.

This course defines the standard required to: select, use, maintain and store suitable Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), carry out routine checks and maintenance on your chainsaw, apply appropriate chainsaw technique and cutting methods according to manufacturer’s specifications, document low risk work procedures, assess and minimise environmental impacts of chainsaw use, maintain records of chainsaw training and certification, risk assessment and use. PPE including steel capped boots, safety gasses and ear protection is required for this course.

Pre-requisite: Students are required to complete online pre-learning prior to the course date. If this pre-learning is not successfully completed, you will be unable to participate in the course. After successfully completing this course, you will receive a Competency Card for the nationally accredited unit of competency: AHCMOM213 Operate and maintain chainsaws.

    Students are required to complete online pre-learning prior to the course date. Students will be emailed a link to this pre-learning one week prior to the course. If this pre-learning is not successfully completed before the course start date, you will be unable to participate in the course. If this occurs you will be offered a refund, or one opportunity to transfer to a later class date. If you do not successfully complete the pre-learning for your second class, your fees will be forfeit.
